My first experience as a college student. It will forever be memorable for me. I met my cohort and I will be friends with most of them throughout all of college and beyond.

My favorite experience was when we visited Tangier Island. It was incredible how much the island had changed from the colonial era to now. An essential port in the War of 1812 had now lost most of its land and much of their population in large part due to erosion.

I collected my first samples and produced my first college presentation as well. I also got stung by a jellyfish for the first time, that week was a lot of firsts for me.

I got to know personally many of my favorite professors and I received the perfect introduction into the field of science.This program became foundation for the rest of my time at college. I wish all students could enjoy a program like this.
