Statistics was my first Longwood class ever since it was my 8 a.m. class of my first semester. While students often complain about early classes, I found it rewarding to start my day off early. Like in many math classes, I was taught how to do the math without understanding how to apply it appropriately in actual life. It wasn’t until Statistics 2: Applied Statistics, that I started understanding how to craft my own statistical diagrams. Reading scientific papers became easier and everything in Statistics 1 started making sense. If anyone has to take Statistics 1, I recommend also taking Statistics 2 because everything learned in Stats 1 might go to waste in your brain without it.
This artifact was my last statistical analysis project where we looked to see whether there was any difference in political leaning based on sex or class rank. For this paper, I was asked to write in a stale, but direct and concise writing style. I have had to use this style for some of my science classes so it was good to get some practice in this class.
