Community service at Longwood is not difficult to come by, and there are a variety of options to give back to the community in Farmville and to others. I participated in several fund-raising and drive events, reaching out to individuals to donate money and materials needed by the honors college, the archaeology institute, and the LCVA. During the past year, the house competitions in the honors college was a wonderful way for people to get involved, especially if they had busy schedules, as students could donate things rather than volunteer. Several points throughout the year, I gave clothes, plastic bags, school supplies and other things that were being collected.
