Citizen 410 being the final step in my Civitae journey was a great experience for me to have before I graduate. Our Symposium project alone taught me various skills that I value. The topic that we chose to create a solution for was very challenging and it took my group and I multiple weeks to come up with a solid plan for our Symposium Day presentation. While there were many moments of frustration and difficulty coming up with ideas, now that it’s over I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on the skills I gained that helped me become a better student and citizen leader. Examples include teamwork, time management, critical thinking, and brainstorming, etc. I feel as if this project, which included lots of obstacles, was more meaningful to me than the assignments I’ve done that don’t challenge me at all and are simplistic. I now value the idea of being challenged and know that it’s the best way to accomplish real growth. In addition, our topic, sustainability, is something I’m very grateful to have more knowledge about now because I understand how important it is and I can educate and make a difference going forward when I start my career in attempt to better the community. Below is my group’s symposium presentation! (There wasn’t enough storage to include the whole thing)
