Welcome

My name is Leah Merone. I am currently a Cormier Honors College student at Longwood University with a major in English and a minor in Creative Writing. After my expected graduation in May of 2021, I intend to pursue higher education in order to earn a master’s degree in Library Science.

I am an avid reader who has been writing fiction and poetry since the age of nine, and I aspire to become a published novelist as well as a librarian. At Longwood, I served as the social media manager for K’in Literary Magazine during the fall of 2019, and two of my original poems have been published in the November 2020 issue of K’in. I have also completed several complete novelizations of television shows, all of which are available online. Each one is over 100,000 words.

My studies include both British and American literature from the medieval period to the modern day. I have written analytical essays on several novels, short stories, and poems; these have all been well-received by their intended audiences. I have read many classics and have used their lessons to improve my writing, study their time periods, and expand my body of knowledge as a potential librarian/author.

I reside in Charlottesville, Virginia with my family.
