This class covered a lot of different topics from the procedures that are needed with each conflict to learning about mental health issues. Each class offered a lot of discussion about what was bugging you and how Longwood is doing as a community. I will cherish how much of a safe space that class was and how caring everyone was. I was able to make a lot of friends in this class, which is not typical for me. It was also my first class that I presented on poster day, which was a bit daunting it allowed me to research into a topic that interests me, which is the outdoors and their effects on college students.

The most important thing that I learned from this class was how to be more assertive and being comfortable with confrontation when needed. Before this class I tended to be a lot more passive and less inclined to speak my mind. Through the course and learning how to deal with situations it made me more prepared for the future.

This is my final paper for the class. It talks about my experiences and how I grew as the semester progressed as an RA and as a person.

Download [204.18 KB]

I took this class because I decided to work as an Resident Assistant this past year and will continue to do so as long as I am able to.
