Scholarship

When it comes to my grades, I have always held myself to a high standard. In high school, I had above a 4.0 GPA. Coming into college for the first time, I wanted to continue to hold myself to these high standards, which is one of many reasons I am very thankful to be a part of the Cormier Honors College. At Longwood, honors students have to maintain a 3.25 GPA and nursing students have to maintain a 2.75 GPA. These requirements have helped me to continue to push myself to be the best I can be. I have been on the Dean’s List almost every semester. I have gotten to participate in the Cormier Honors College Celebration of Scholarship, the Spring Symposium for Research and Creative Inquiry, and the Fall Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry to present the research I conducted in courses I have taken. One of the mottos of the Honors College is “It’s not more work; it’s different work.” When I heard this as a high school senior, I was skeptical, but when I came to Longwood I found this statement to be true.
