Service means giving back to the community that worked to propel us Honors students forward. Honors students are constantly working for their community, in a vast amount of ways. In my first week at Longwood, we were tasked with out first service project: working with Clean Virginia Waterways to clean trash from a creek in Farmville. It was a gratifying experience, to be able to make such a difference in a local area so fast! This is a core value to the Honors College, and one that I will carry with me throughout my life. Giving back to those who support me as a student is incredibly important to me.
