History is not my strong suit so this course was a challenge for me. We learned about civilization throughout western Europe. Since this was an honors level course, there was much more critical thinking assignments and all of our exams were written essays. We had a semester paper requirement in which we got to “time travel” to a past event in history and pretend that we were there experiencing it ourselves, accurately, of course; I put myself in Pompeii. This paper was fun to research and play around with; it was interesting to learn more about the city.
