Welcome!
My name is Sydnee Loftin, and I am a junior at Longwood University. I am a communication sciences and disorders major in hopes to become a speech- language pathologist. I nanny during my breaks and I am very passionate about helping children. I chose Longwood because they have an amazing education program, and I knew I would learn the most about working with children here. I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2023 and attend a graduate program in speech-language pathology.
This eportfolio has been created as my final for ENG 470, Professional Writing. The links at the top of the page will take you to all of the assignments I have created in this class. On each page, I have also included refections based on the course outcomes completed and the outcomes that still need to be perfected. The assignments throughout ENG 470 have helped me learn how to communicate professionally and use plain English through reports, letters, memos, and presentations. Throughout the all assignments, plain English principles were applied. One of the first assignments we completed was the professional correspondence. This was the first time I had created a professional letter and applied plain English principles. The brochure, press release, and professional report were completed with a group. I was able to apply my strong leadership skills to these group assignments and learn about working productively and collaboratively in a group. Overall, I put my best work into these assignments and learned many tools that I will be able to apply in my education and future career.
