Throughout my time at Longwood University, I have taken many classes that would help me with any job. I took a one and two week practicum, that taught me time management, how to keep a schedule and how to be reliable. I would have to be at the school the same time the teacher would and stay until the teacher left. I also had to do assignments for my class at night. I would be responsible for different tasks in the classroom, such as attendance, helping students with assignment and grading assignments. The classrooms were on schedules, so I would have to make sure I knew what time classes changed. I have also taken children’s literature courses that helped me learn how to analyze a text, write papers about the text and talk about a text. Lastly, I have taken numerous history courses for my history minor. This has helped me with reading and analyzing primary sources and memorizing different dates and facts. Overall, through my coursework, I have learned many transferable skills for different jobs.
