I am Lindsey Kelly, a senior Liberal Studies major with minors in History and Children’s Literature. I have taken about eight English Literature classes about Children’s Literature. I have attended banned book readings at Longwood University and listened to why the readers think the books were banned. I wrote various papers about different children’s literature and young adult literature. I have read numerous children’s literature and young adult literature. I have my own personal library of different series of children’s and young adult literature. I have written lesson plans that incorporate literature.
My personal philosophies on leadership and work is to do the best you can. I strive to do the best I can at any job no matter what I am doing. For example, when I worked at Girl Scout Camp, I made sure to do everything I could to make the girl’s experience the best it could be. I also ensured that my co-workers had everything they needed from me to make the week successful. While I am working at 7- Eleven, I do my job plus extra everyday. I ask my manager for an extra list of things to do while I am there. I do not like to stand around and be bored. I like to do something productive at all times. I believe that I should do more than what is expected to become a leader.
