My journey with Spanish started in June 2015 when I traveled to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip. It was on that trip that I decided I would not take French in college like I did in high school, but I would take Spanish instead. Placing into 101, I slowly began to learn Spanish, even if I spoke it with a French accent. Doing this interview with my Nana, who does not speak any Spanish so I had to do all the translating, will have ended up being rather beneficial since, as of the end of the semester, I found out I will be returning to the Dominican Republic and can put my newfound language skills into practice.
