The Honors Student Association (HSA) was technically the first organization I joined on Longwood’s campus, as every Honors student is a de facto member. Having held a leadership position in this organization for two years (the first year as historian, the second year as an exec member in charge of communications), I can definitively say that this organization is best classified as a springboard organization as it launches members into the world that is Longwood’s Clubs and Organizations. Through this organization I learned about so many events going on around campus, and it lets the freshmen know just how much there is out there for them to get involved with. Unfortunately my involvement dissipated after I got off the exec board, but without this organization I would not have done half the things that I did during my time at Longwood.
