Student Educators for Active Leadership (S.E.A.L.) truly was the first organization on Longwood’s campus that I heard about and wanted to join. I was in an organization similar to S.E.A.L. in high school, though with a focus other than leadership, and was instantly drawn to the events they hold, particularly NSLP, or the New Student Leadership Program. By the end of my freshmen year I was a new member and in a leadership position for the next year, serving as the historian for the organization. That year was also the first time I attended Mountain Lake Leadership Conference (MLLC), and the first time I presented there as well. Since then I have served on the exec board as the secretary of the organization and presented twice more at each subsequent MLLC, with my final presentation being the one that remains closest to my heart.
