As an active member since day one of the Honors Student Association and the former Communications Liaison, I have loved being involved in the Honors Community. I was privileged enough to be able to attend the 2016 NCHC Conference in Seattle with Honors friends old and new, and it was an experience like no other.
In the fall of 2016 I was a Peer Mentor for an Honors LSEM, which was one of the best experiences of my Longwood Career so far. I had sixteen freshmen whom I got to spend time with during New Lancer Days and actual LSEM classes and it gave me the opportunity not only to mentor those students but to build friendships that will last a lifetime.
The phrase “Wheeler life” was common in my vocabulary for my first two years on campus, and although I am excited to be moving into an apartment I will miss the community that Wheeler has.
