Education is a vital aspect in maintaining a well-kept society. Longwood has been a guiding resource for my academic career in many ways. This includes:

  1. Enabling me to choose a career path: Longwood University has amazing undergraduate and graduate programs for speech-language pathology. The CSDS department advisors provide hands-on experience by utilizing a real-life clinic on campus grounds. All of the professors have experience in private practices as well as doctoral degrees in education.
  2. Giving me access to educational resources: Longwood provides numerous resources to help student’s academically. The library has many well-educated individuals to assist students in whatever subject they may need help with. In addition, the library has an online database which is very useful for narrowing research results. The tutoring center is also a great resource. I have used the writing center as well as the QR center many times throughout my fall and spring semesters.
  3. Providing me with faculty and student mentors: The BEST part of Longwood is how committed the students and staff are. I can honestly say that each and every professor I have had thus far has shaped me into a more knowledgable and caring individual. Lessons go far beyond the classroom. My advisors are also very helpful and organized. In addition, I have been matched with many upperclassmen who have helped me along the way. I cannot wait to assist the incoming freshman class next year. I am so excited to share my experiences and newfound knowledge of Longwood with them!

Class takes place outside so students can enjoy fresh air!
