This course was taught by Dr. Dolence and I learned a lot throughout the semester. For most of the semester, we were tasked in picking a civic issue that we were interested in and coming up with a way to help solve it. Dr. Dolence was helpful and supportive throughout the entire process and taught us about pitching an idea, creating solutions to problems, and what resources are needed to impact the issue we picked. My group and I picked Human Trafficking as our topic. We decided to create a syllabus of a course on Human Trafficking that could be taught here at Longwood. On symposium day, we taught a mock class and handed out our syllabus to the audience. We learned a lot about human trafficking and creating a course through this process. Below I have attached the syllabus that we created as well as our presentation that we showed on Symposium day.
