For the scientific perspective level, I chose to take the climate change science, history, and policy course because I have always been interested in learning about climate change. This course was different then all of the other course I have taken because the class was co-taught. This made the class interesting because I got to learn about climate change from two professors who had two different areas of expertise relating to climate change. In high school, I learned a lot about the science of climate change, but this class allowed me to learn about the history and policy side as well.
When we learned about the science side of climate change, I found the content to be pretty easy since I had already learned most of the information before. However, when we learned more about the history and policy side, I found that to be more challenging, especially since we learned most of this content online.
At the end of the course, we were assigned a case study project where we researched the science, history, and policy of some aspect of climate change. I chose to research about rising sea level. The paper includes the science surrounding rising sea level as well as policies to help and prevent it from occurring.
