Service to me is a direct and visible way to give back to the community. I have been fortunate enough to participate in many community service events throughout my time at Longwood. In Epsilon Eta, we would get together and do trash clean ups many times a semester. Also, we volunteered at twin lakes park and performed a variety of jobs such as trail maintenance and clean ups. I participated in a book drive for Kappa Delta Pi where we donated over 300 books to a school in Richmond who suffered from a fire. For SEAL, we had an anti-bullying week where we had a booth each day on campus that spread positively in some way. For example, we handed out flowers, buttons, and kindness cards. Being apart of all of these organization and participating in these community service opportunities helped me grow as a person while simultaneously giving back to the community that has given me so much.
