Having taken Spanish in high school and continuing with Spanish in college as my minor, another language was the last thing I ever expected to be doing. After switching around some of my classes my first semester, I signed up for French on a whim. I had never taken a French class in my life before starting FREN 110 so I was terrified to say the least. What eased my nerves on the first day of the class were the students in my section. My classmates were some of the warmest and lively people I have had class with at Longwood. They were truly a blessing and their inviting personalities eased me into the class. Taking French and Spanish at the same time stimulated my brain like I have never felt before. When I would overhear conversations, my brain would have trouble figuring out what language someone was speaking for a few seconds. My artifact I present for FREN 110 is a picture of me studying French over the summer. I fell in love with the language and would love to learn more of it. I took the Spring semester to focus on my Spanish, but I am using my time in quarantine and my time on summer break to touch up on my French in hopes of returning for a second semester of it this coming fall.
