WGST115: Gender, Representation, and Culture

Honors classes seem to be stealing my heart, because the amazing class WGST115 was my second favorite class I took for my freshman year. This particular paper was the last paper I wrote for the class and it was a blast to write because it compiled all of the social justice concepts we had been exploring in class. I never thought that writing a paper could be enjoyable until I had this assignment. I was able to use my skills that I learned from my honors film class, with the concepts I had learned in this gender, representation, and culture class. Mixing these two sets of knowledge produced this incredible sense of euphoria for me because I realized just how much I cared about both of the subjects. Writing this paper made me feel like a social justice queen to say the least. Regardless of the quality of the writing, I had a blast writing it and it inspired me to share my thoughts with others. I have always been big on social justice issues, but this class has equipped me with the vocabulary and concepts to be able to better articulate my viewpoints, and to better understand others as well.
