My study abroad experience was in Madrid, Spain. My program lasted a little over 4 weeks, but I traveled after the completion of my program and ended up being there for a little over 5 weeks. My program was through CIS Abroad and I took two Spanish classes (one on culture and one on grammar) at Nebrija Universidad in Madrid. I had lots of freedom outside of my two classes, so I spent lots of time with the three other girls their through CIS exploring the city of Madrid and getting to know my host mom. The experience was amazing overall and in addition to improving my Spanish I learned a lot about living independently in a foreign place.
