Bio

My name is Kent Wells from Richmond, Virginia. I am a Communications and Media Studies major with a minor in Political Science at Longwood University.

My professional development began during my time in the Boy Scouts of America where I served as the Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 720. My position within the troop involved being in the senior position, where I was responsible for planning monthly camping trips, running weekly meetings and serving as a liaison to the adult leaders so that they could communicate ideas and information to the troop members.

During my time at Glen Allen High school I served as the treasurer for the Technology Student Association. As treasurer I was responsible for managing all funds and dues used by the TSA. My main responsibility was collecting everyone’s dues and then using them to finance our trip to the state competition. in addition to the TSA I was also on the soccer team for my high school where I bolstered my teamwork and communication skills.

When I arrived at Longwood University I was unsure of the path that I wanted to take in my college career. After some deliberation, I chose to become a Communications Studies major because of my interest in public speaking and technology. During my second semester at Longwood University I also joined Theta Chi fraternity. Within the chapter I soon become Philanthropy Chair where I was responsible for organizing event sot raise money for the United Service Organization. next I became the Standards Chair. in the position I was responsible for issuing consequences for those to violate our laws or standards within the chapter. I am eager to see what else this school has in store for me and cannot wait to see what sort of opportunities will come my way in the future.
