My surrounding community is very crucial to me. My community involves the people in Cormier Honors College, my brothers in Alpha Phi Omega, other members of the Student Nursing Association, and any other students in the nursing program with me. My goal is to surround myself with other intellectuals and people who will challenge me to become better tomorrow than I was yesterday. With these main groups as my supporting community I would like to think that this goal is possible.
Those who are in these communities with me overlap and create a giant network of relationships and bonds that only strengthen with time. I have met some of my greatest supporters and friends in some of these overlapping communities. I feel the need to strive to become the citizen leader Longwood University hopes that we become. My peers allow for new opportunities, diversity, and achievement on campus and in our lives.
The people of Longwood include my close-knit communities that have become a knot of interconnections and involvement. My community is Longwood’s community. I believe that there is a pertinent connection between those in my community and their importance in my life.
