At the Foundations Level, students engage in creative inquiry, cultivate curiosity, and develop foundational knowledge and skills.
It consists of two parts: first-year and pillars
Learning Outcomes:
- Investigate foundations of citizenship (ethical reasoning, critical thought, and civil discourse)
- Describe and analyze continuity and change in one or more cultures
- Evaluate cultural norms, societal institutions, and implicit and explicit assumptions about themselves
- Develop skills for global citizenship through study of world languages and cultures
- Explore/ engage in creative and artistic expression
- Analyze which quantitative reasoning and methods best address different types of questions and apply them to various problems in context
- Use scientific reasoning to address a variety of questions in context
- Analyze and use writing conventions appropriate to different audiences and identify personal strengths and weaknesses in writing
- Analyze and use speaking conventions appropriate to different audiences and identify personal strengths and weaknesses in speaking
