Global Citizenship

Learning about history and other cultures is important because that is what shaped today’s society. This pillar is all about learning about times/cultures other than our own to understand how today’s society was formed. For this pillar I took HIST-125, which taught world history from as far back as written records. The biggest takeaway from this course was delving into the different cultures over time and seeing just how new advancements literally changed the world. During this course, we read about a scholar named Ibn Battuta and wrote a paper reacting to his travels. Throughout this paper, I learned a lot about ancient Islamic regions, and writing a paper reacting to history.
