In Balancing Work & Family Life I learned skills to create and conduct an interview for dat purposes. I learned how to create my own questionnaire, with open ended question so I could gather data that would be more than a yes or no question. After collecting data I learned how to transcribe an interview and then turn my data into a research project and powerpoint to present.

In SOCL 351, sociology of family violence, I learned skills on how to spot and acknowledge abuse within the family. I also learned about child abuse, how to detect it and the step to take in order to help the child. I also learned prevention methods, the codes of which child abuse falls under, and all the risk factors that come with abuse. I also learned triggers and factors as to why and how child abuse, or abuse in general occur. I learned that many children and or family members who are abuse are typically abused by people who were previously abuse.

In SOCL 241, marriage and family, I learned many factors that go into marriage and having a family. I learned how to budget for a family, factor to consider when having child, leave parents receive for having a child while working and how to create a contract. While creating my marriage contract, I learned how to budget for a wedding and how to take in consideration to equal both parties needs.
