Honors BIOL 101

Honors Introduction to Biological Concepts

Fall 2017

Honors Introduction to Biological Concepts, another one of my first honors classes, was an eye-opening class in regards to how honors courses compared to non-honors courses. In this class, we discussed the basics of biology on a largely general level while taking time to dive deeper into specific topics every so often. Throughout the course, we would often hold discussions in addition to completing detailed and complex lab experiments. Compared to non-honors sections of the course, other students did not participate in discussions and completed simpler lab experiments.

Completing the semester, students were assigned to create a poster detailing one experiment conducted that semester. Creating a poster based on an experiment that tested different foods to see if they contained genetically modified organisms, I created the poster featured above and presented it in front of my peers as well as Longwood staff at the Honors Poster Session.
