Service

Service: The action of helping or doing work for someone

Service comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. So….how do I serve? I serve by being a leader in and out of the classroom. As I share my thoughts in the academic setting my openness to listen invites others to share. That feeling of being listened to I provide to others gives them the courage to open up and break down those walls of fear of being vulnerable from sharing. One small comment invites others to follow.

I serve Longwood by being involved in organizations. As a member of the Longwood Ambassadors I have the honor to show off this amazing school to perspective students and their families. I shine the best and brightest light on Longwood and share how Longwood has shaped me and others. My new recent role as President of Mortar Board allows me to serve Longwood in a very influential way. To me, Oktoberfest is the kickoff of the year, something I always look forward to with anticipation, and a memory I will never forget. While my memories of Oktoberfest are amazing, it is time to create memories for others. I have the privilege to lead, support, and encourage a group of amazing peers who plan and execute on of the biggest weekends at Longwood with hopes of providing pure joy and bliss to our friends and peers at Oktoberfest.
