For Goal 9, I completed a winter intercession course on World History from 1500 to the present. One of our major assignments was a paper on the Krakatoa Volcano. In this paper, I debated the idea that Krakatoa was the first major geological event observed or experienced around the world.
Longwood Honors requires students to also study abroad. Due to medical reasons, my doctor and I decided it would be best if I stayed in Virginia. Instead, I volunteered at the training center of the International Mission Board. I worked with elementary-aged students who were getting ready to go all over the world to be missionaries with their parents. Throughout this experience, they inspired me to fulfill my dream of becoming a Children’s Ministry Leader.
