In this class, we read many philosophical books and short stories. It was an interesting class, Every class it was about a half lecture, and a half discussion. We discussed the meaning of everything we read and tried to bring in real life examples. At times, it was difficult to contribute to the conversation because the reading was difficult to understand.
The assignment I selected from this class was my last paper for the class. We watched Lars and the Real Girl because it had many examples from our units: philosophical love, friendship, erotic love, and Christian love. In our paper, we had to state why the movie could be related to the class. While writing the paper, I got a deeper understanding of each of the units we talked about. It taught me that seeing examples can help understand a deeper meaning.
