Service is a huge aspect for the honors college and and Longwood itself. Sevice is about giving back to our community. This aspect is very near and dear to me because it gives me many opportunities to give back to the community but also make great relationships with amazing people. During my first week here, a group of other honors students and I went to the High Bridge Trail to clean up the trash and I really liked it because not only were we cleaning up the environment but I also got to enjoy the scenery. Throughout all of the honors retreats over the years, I have helped clean up horse stalls, repaint barns, clean up trails, and clean Longwood’s campus. I enjoyed the environment and the people I was with as they made it fun and meeting the people who owned these places was really cool as we got to know more about the location.
