I took this class in the fall semester of 2018. This was my second honors class at Longwood. This class was interesting because I had it once a week for three hours at a time. I liked this class because it talked about how a child develops and how people’s minds work. It was a mix between development and psychology which was cool because I took AP psychology in high school.
This class was very hands on and interactive. We did a lot of group activities and in class activities that made the course more interactive and talking was strongly encouraged. Throughout the course, I learned the developmental stages from early childhood to an adolescent. We had a project called the Three Ages Project. It was a project where we had to observe and interview three different people throughout the three different development stages. I observed the physical, cognitive, and social development of a five, twelve, and sixteen year old.
