I have created this ePortfolio to showcase my work from the ENGL 470 course I took in the Fall 2021 semester. After completing this course, I believe it has really strengthened my professional writing skills. Specifically, learning the steps of how to create a successful resume and cover letter, formatting of professional documents, and working well with classmates. These three things have helped me tremendously and will be a great help in the future when applying to graduate schools and jobs.
Professional Profile
Hello! My name is Emily Friel. I am a Senior Communication Sciences and Disorders major with a minor in Business Administration. I have been lucky enough to call Longwood home for the past four years and this school has helped me grow both as a person and in my studies.
I have known I have wanted to work with kids for as long as I can remember. Having worked as a daycare teacher, summer camp supervisor, and substitute in the past, these experiences have been a driving force to become a speech pathologist. The amazing thing about speech pathology is that there are many different fields that would work with all different types of people. Ideally I would like to work in a school system and then my ultimate goal is to open my own private speech pathology practice and that is why I decided to also minor in business administration.
Longwood has been able to challenge and prepare me for my future and I am forever grateful for this school and the experiences it has provided me.
