Before taking this English 400 class, it was already important to me to speak up for what I believe in, and make a difference in my daily life, to make the changes I would like to see in the world. However, I wasn’t as motivated, or perhaps educated enough on how to make a difference through influencing other people. Now that I have taken this course, I am excited to take steps to make greater changes in the world by putting my voice out there more often for the things I believe in. I think for someone going into a career in education, my future is already set up to have a strong platform for making a difference. Students, especially at such a young age, look up to and learn from those they’re around. By educating my students, not only on academic material, but about important concepts such as looking after the environment, respecting everyone for who they are, and understanding everyone should be offered the same opportunities as one another, I can help young children grow up to care about these important concepts and in turn, be making a difference in the world. Additionally, I will take my knowledge of ethos, pathos, logos and logical fallacies with me throughout the rest of my educational career. I think these concepts are beneficial for most classes to come and will help me to turn in the best assignments possible.
