Letter to My Senior Self

Dear the Future Me,

After completing my first year of college I can already tell it is going to go by really fast. I hope that you have thoroughly enjoyed your college experience and have taken advantage of every opportunity available to you, especially those through the Honors College. Hopefully you continued to break out of your shell and meet new people and forge new connections. Do not forget all the hard times during your college experience as they helped you reach the place you are currently at. I hope that you did not let failure get to you as it simply helped you to grow and gain knowledge to overcome future obstacles. Learning is something you will do throughout life, so I hope you remember that just because you are done with college you still are not done with learning.

Now it is time to head off into the working world and find your place at a high school to teach children all about history. Make sure to teach them to enjoy learning and tell them that time really does fly by. Remember to keep a cool head and remember that you used to be in their positions not that long ago, so do not be too hard on them. Keep all of your experiences in life in mind and prepare to meet all sorts of kids of different backgrounds whose lives you are going to impact.

Remember to stay positive and do not overwork yourself as you like to take on more than what you can handle. Take time to relax and enjoy every single day.

With lots of love,

Kendra Fetty
