Service
Serving the Longwood community and the Farmville area is a very important part of becoming a Citizen Leader and is one of the most important things a college student can do. During my first year at Longwood, I participated in two major service programs. The first came at the very beginning of the year and it entailed moving in all of the incoming freshmen to their respective dorms. Dealing with 10-story Frazer is no joke and the hours spent carrying refrigerators up countless flights of stairs in the blazing heat was hard but worth it in the end. The second major service project I participated in was helping a local church load an 18-wheeler with operation shoe boxes. On both occasions, it felt amazing to support the local community and other students at Longwood.
