Service is a pillar which has always been an important part of my experience at Longwood. I think that the best way service applies to me would be my service as a leader at Longwood. I serve or have served in leadership roles in various Longwood clubs/organizations such as the Hispanic Latino Association (HLA), the Student Government Association, the CHANGE organization, and Mortar Board. I am the Vice President of the HLA and I assist in leading the organization and promoting Hispanic/Latino cultural awareness on campus. I serve on the SGA as the HLA Representative and I speak up on issues or concerns on campus that SGA should be aware of and should work to address. I serve as the Chairperson of the CHANGE organization which is a council of multicultural organizations on campus. As the Chairperson of CHANGE, I work to promote diversity and inclusion and raise cultural awareness on campus. I serve as the Midway position on Mortar Board and I work to make Oktoberfest a success and to promote scholarship, service, and leadership on campus.
I have exhibited service at Longwood through the leadership, work ethic, and integrity that I demonstrate in my commitment to my clubs and organizations. My passion, dedication, and spirit drive me to serve as a leader and role model for the students at Longwood University. The best way that I exhibit service is by helping others and serving the Longwood community.
