Dear Senior Me,

I just recently finished my first year of college, and wanted to take a moment to reflect on my accomplishments, and look forward to the future with several set goals in mind. This past year, I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the entire year, which reflected a lot of hard work. I was proud of myself because a lot of the classes I took were not easy, especially second semester when I was enrolled in more difficult, upper level courses. This said, I hope to graduate with honors, Summa Cum Laude. This honor requires a GPA of 3.75-4.0 which is tough, but I am certain that I can succeed if I work hard.
Many people say that friendships change as people move throughout college and life, but it is also one of my goals to maintain the connections I have made this first year at Longwood, and to be intentional about fostering these relationships. Lifelong friends only remain that way with work, and I intend to work at the relationships I have built in order to make them stronger and deeper.
Finally, I want to find more ways to serve in the community while I am at school. I found several different opportunities, but I would really like to find a steadier volunteer position in which I can serve others. This summer, I am planning to go on a service trip to Nicaragua where I will be teaching English, and I hope to do something similar moving forward.
The goals listed above are smaller pieces that fit into the puzzle of my ultimate goal: going to law school and becoming a Prosecuting Attorney. Of course, I will be happy getting into any law school, but my biggest dream is to get into a top law school in Virginia, like Georgetown or UVA. Naturally, I need to continue to do well in school in order to do so, but I also need to put a large focus on the LSAT, as my scores will be very important in getting into the school of my choice.
Overall, I hope that by my senior year I will have accomplished all of these things, and I cannot wait to see where the next four years at Longwood take me.

Sincerely,

Post-Freshman Year Me
