This website reflects the collaborative efforts of Holden Allen, Angel Furrow, Virginia Rucker, and Sami Stoddard. This website operates as the cumulative and final implementation of the ideas, content, as well as knowledge acquired by our group as we served as students within our CTZN 410-03 Symposium on the Common Good: Equitable Education for All course.
Following the theme of our specific course’s section, our group designed and created this website in order to present formalized recommendations, interventions, and strategies that local school systems can implement. Prince Edward county schools were specifically selected for this project; however, the recommendations produced by this project can be applied to educational systems outside our local community. Given the great dynamicity and variability in educational systems within our country as well as attempting to improve levels of equity in the realm of education, our group has elected to focus on the role and influence of communication and collaboration between caregivers and educators concerning the educational progress of students with disabilities and how these specific topics might relate to the overall levels of success and equity that can be attained within our educational institutions.
