BIOL 114: Biol for the Teach Profession

Taking this course was like revisiting all the things I used to know and love about my science classes. While the lecture were long, I appreciated and utilized the notes our professor had taken time and prepared for us ahead of time so we follow along better. I was able to apply that knowledge during our labs and test the ideas I had. I got to see examples of all the animals we were learning about, practice presenting information to the class, and conduct my own experiment to later show the evidence of to my peers. I used a microscope again, which I never thought I would get to say, and I saw the requirements of the SOL for certain grades, and how best to teach the subjects so kids might retain it. I thought the application of the knowledge, to help kids, was probably the best thing I got to take away. I know how best to germinate a sunflower seed to see visual growth with just household supplies. Amazing!
