Hello reader! My name is Mary Costello, but everyone calls me Midge. I just completed my freshmen year at Longwood University, and I’m here to tell you a little bit about myself.

I am a Theatre Education major with a Special Education minor. I started out the year as just a Special Education major, but quickly realized I wanted something a little different. I’ve known I’ve wanted to be a teacher since the 5th grade. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in elementary school, and had many teacher over the years who have helped and hindered me. It inspired me to be there for kids who were like me, and it became my goal to one day be able to teach them.

Some of the more trivial things you might want to know is that I am the middle child of three, and am a  camp councilor in the summer (normally). I love art and theatre, hence the major, and dreamed of being an actress like Sharpay Evens from High School Musical (even though she was technically the “bad guy” in the movies most of the time).
