I took MATH 171 with Professor Hyvaert second semester of Freshman year. This class was a challenge in all regards, in content and pace and workload. I struggled to keep up with the weekly homework and still find time to prepare for testing. The only easy part of the class was the in-class worksheets which were based on the day’s lectures. Since the lecture was minutes recent I could finish the worksheets before class ended and leave early. I learned in this class that it is incredibly hard to succeed in an online format when you were already struggling when you had access to in-person lectures and office hours.
