We realize this is an incredibly stressful time, so it’s more important than ever to use healthy coping skills to ensure good mental health. Since we are not able to provide face-to-face services, CAPS thought it would be a great idea to offer many of our psychoeducational materials online, so students (and parents) may receive the support they need.
Here you can watch Dr. Retallick present the workshops as she would at CAPS, except all three have been combined into one presentation. Dr. Retallick has also included a few slides at the beginning to explain the purpose of the workshops through a stepped-care model, as well as address common myths about the difference between the Building Resiliency Workshops and group therapy.
We have also included a PowerPoint presentation with notes and links to videos that are referenced. The links will take you to YouTube videos that further explain mindfulness/meditation, provide some laughter, and opportunities to practice mindfulness.
Lastly, you have access to the worksheets students receive when attending the Workshops. We hope that you print these off, put them in a place where they’re easy to access, and utilize them when you’re struggling.
We recognize this is not the same as presenting the Building Resiliency Workshops in person, but we hope it provides some resources to help you cope better through these difficult times.
