About Me

May 24, 2018 – Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) conference hosted by Longwood University, Farmville, VA.

I will be graduating from Longwood University in May of 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During my time here at Longwood University, I have participated in many course that have challenged me to develop essential skills for my future career in cell and molecular biology. Some noteworthy classes have been immunology, molecular mechanisms of disease, and toxicology, as well as my independent research with Dr. Erin Shanle. My research has allowed me to formally conduct research for two and a half years and present my findings at both local and national conferences such as the Virginia Academy of Science (VAS) and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). I have also had the opportunity to prepare a manuscript for publication. Through these experiences, I have studied many different cellular and molecular concepts and acquired numerous laboratory skills along the way that will aide me in my future laboratory career.
