Letter to my Senior Self
Dear Senior Self,
This year has definitely not been what I expected. I feel I adjusted pretty well to living on campus, getting used to getting around, using the FAB, and figuring what foods are the best on campus. I have made a couple really great friends and I’m so excited to see who else I meet as I go through my next couple years at Longwood.
I encountered a few crazy surprises this year. First, I found out I am graduating a year early! So I guess technically, I’ll only read this letter two years from now instead of three. That is so crazy to me, and something I never expected to happen at all. I am super excited though, because I’m getting married in a year! I hope that is going as amazing as I think it will be!
The other unexpected surprise was COVID-19. I have no idea what life will be like two years from now after all of this craziness. No one was expecting this, and I don’t think anyone knows what life will be like when the quarantine ends and the country is reopened.
This year I lived on campus in Wheeler, and I loved it! The community there was so nice to have, but with planning a wedding and saving money for rent and other real-world things, I’m going to be commuting from home in Lynchburg next year. I’m super excited to see how commuter life is different from residential life and how it changes my schedule and my experience at Longwood.
I hope that graduating is as rewarding as I think it will be. I am sure my future self feels incredibly accomplished and excited for the next big step. I hope I have found exactly what I want to do career-wise, and I hope that I have also developed an even deeper love for my field of study.
Good luck! And never give up!
