Biography

Hi, my name is Kelsey Bomar. I am a senior Cormier Honors College student and Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) major and Neurostudies minor at Longwood University. In May of 2022, I will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in CSD. After that, I plan to attend a Speech Pathology graduate program, with hopes to one day become a medical speech language pathologist. Both the brain and communication have both alway been interest’s of mine. The medical side of speech pathology combines the two aspects into one common interest. With the knowledge I will gain from Longwood’s CSD program and Neurostudies program, I feel confident entering a CSD graduate program to fulfill my desire to become an SLP.

I am actively involved in several organizations, clubs, and committees, both associated with Longwood, and independent from Longwood.  I am the secretary of the National Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA), an active member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV) Student Committee, a member of the Social Media Subcommittee of the SHAV Student Committee, a member of Longwood’s Wesley Foundation, and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
