Global Citizenship or Aesthetic Perspectives

For the global citizenship or aesthetic perspectives course, I took RELI 342: Religion and Literature with Dr. Blincoe in the Spring of 2021. This course examined the concept of theistic existentialism. It challenged me to evaluate what a human life is and what it means to be human through a theistic perspective. This course gave me a new perspective on life and quite honestly taught me many “life lessons” and was filled with much advice from philosophers. Being a theist myself, I found it easy to relate with, and enjoy much of the course content. In fact, I find myself using information I learned from this course quite often in my personal life. The knowledge I now have due to the opportunity of taking this course has had a positive influence on my attitude towards life as well. Here in my portfolio, you will find a quote by Soren Kierkegaard on my “Note to Senior Self.” That is a quote I learned in this course and I now use as a motto.

Below is my “Personal Reflection” written by me, Kelsey Bomar, on May 4th of 2021. In this reflection you will find why the course was important to me and what I gained from it.
