EDUC 245-50: Human Growth and Development

I took the honors section of Education 245 the Spring semester of 2020. This class about about human development. We learned about physical development, social development, and cognitive development during each age range of life. This class was not particularly challenging because my professor, Dr. Tackett, made the class very interesting and easy to follow. Something I would say that I gained from this class is that I got to research a topic that related to my major and what I am truly interested in and would like to continue researching. I got to research what language development looked like in children who were deaf and received cochlear implants, and write a paper on it. It also happens to be my artifact. This was a very important assignment because it gave me the chance to be able to see what it would be like to do research in my field of study. It also made me more interested in language development than I was before the assignment. It was very interesting to research how language develops in those who have lost experience hearing. This assignment was not only an important part of the class, it was also an important part of my professional development.
